Welcome and Welcome Back Archbishop Carroll Families!
On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I hope that you have enjoyed a restful and relaxing summer! As I begin my fourteenth year at Archbishop Carroll, I am particularly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Interim Principal for the 2018-2019 school year. Through the years I have been truly blessed to be a part of this community in a variety of ways. Having spent a number of years as a teacher, coach, and a parent, I am honored to continue to work in this new capacity with such a dedicated faculty and staff who are committed to serving the needs of all of our families.
I am pleased to announce some additional changes to this year’s administrative team. First, Ms. Kristin Jackson-Nesmith will be moving into the position of Vice Principal for Student Affairs. Ms. Jackson-Nesmith is a master educator and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience that will support us in our quest to ensure our students’ current and future successes. Next, Mrs. Melanie Powell will be our new Academic Dean. In her new role, Mrs. Powell will continue to promote and support our school’s strong academic culture and help to further enhance our instructional programs. Finally, Mrs. Christine Miller will be our new Director of Guidance. In her time with us as a member of the Guidance Department, Mrs. Miller has worked diligently to provide a supportive learning environment for all of our students. Together, we have spent the summer working hard to strengthen and enrich our academic programs in order to ensure that our students are receiving an education that supports and empowers them as they strive to reach their full potential as young men and women of God. I am pleased to be working with Ms. Jackson-Nesmith, Mrs. Powell, and Mrs. Miller and I am confident in our ability to continue to move Archbishop Carroll forward toward our Vision 2020 and beyond. Please join me in welcoming them and extending support in their new roles.
We are proud and excited to launch the 2018-2019 school year with our incredibly talented and dedicated teaching staff and your ongoing support and partnership. With change comes excitement, and I look forward to all this year has in store for us. Let us begin this school year grounded in the mission of Archbishop Carroll High School:
Archbishop Carroll High School is a Catholic, college preparatory, co-educational school that welcomes young people and empowers them in an academically rigorous, diverse, and supportive learning environment. Our community works daily to think critically, creatively, and morally so that we can serve God with purpose.
