PRE-ADVANCED PLACEMENT/ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES
- COLLEGE PREP AND HONORS COURSES
Archbishop Carroll offers both college preparatory and honors courses in the following subject areas: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language. College preparatory courses prepare students for future coursework in college. Every student graduating from Archbishop Carroll will be prepared for post-secondary coursework after successful completion of the college prep curriculum. Honors courses offer opportunities for high achieving students to engage in studies more thoroughly than in the college prep courses. An additional quality point is added to courses in which students earn a C or better. Admission to honors courses are based on teacher recommendations, grades, and standardized test scores. Additionally, higher level Vance Media and Engineering courses receive honors distinction.
