Academics Overview

Welcome from the Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Archbishop Carroll High School offers a college preparatory curriculum to ninth through twelfth grade students. The integration of Christian truths and values within the framework of academic learning characterizes the educational approach of Archbishop Carroll. Because we believe that students learn through their experience of the total school environment, we devote ourselves to build, within the school, a community that is characterized by a pervading influence of Christian values, a strong insistence on an approach to education, and a firm commitment to academic excellence.

Every aspect of Archbishop Carroll’s curriculum strives to provide the educational opportunities that will enhance the continued growth and development of our students. In order to encourage students to work to their fullest potential, to use their talents most effectively, and to give themselves the broadest possible education, Archbishop Carroll High School encourages each student to plan their own academic course selections with the assistance of teachers, guidance counselors, and parents. The student is thereby guided to foresee their future plans and to assume responsibility for meeting those goals.

Our offerings are designed to permit the student to select courses that are within their range of ability and interest In the areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Religion, and World Languages. These courses are also available to meet the needs of honor and advanced placement students. Our fine arts program encourages the student to develop their musical and artistic abilities while physical education, and programs promote the formation of a well-rounded, well-informed individual. In addition, two fully equipped state of the art Engineering and Media facilities round out our curriculum program.

Through its philosophy, admission policies, curriculum, and facilities, Archbishop Carroll strives to create an atmosphere for learning and self-growth. Each student is given the opportunity to realize their potential and to develop healthy attitudes and responsible behavior that will permit them to pursue continued studies and assume their place in society.
