BECOME A LIFEGUARD
DPR employs the International Lifeguard Training Program (ILTP) to train and certify lifeguards to work both indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities throughout the District. The ILTP is an objective driven program that produces lifeguards that perform at a higher level than those of other national/international training agencies. Lifeguard candidates must successfully pass written and practical (“hands-on”) tests. ILTP Course Completion Certificate can be used to gain employment at any aquatic facility in the world.
All candidates must pass the prerequisites screening on the first day of class which includes the following:
* 100 yard swim (continuous using an approach stroke, freestyle or breaststroke)
* Retrieve a 10 pound dive brick from the deepest part of the training facility
* Tread water without the use of your hands for 1 minute
* Exit the pool unassisted and without the use of steps or a ladder
DPR offers ILTP courses between November and July at multiple facilities across the District. Candidates must successfully pass the written exam with a minimum score of 80%, demonstrate skill competency to the instructor during practical scenarios, attend all scheduled class sessions and maintain a professional attitude at all times.

I need all varsity players from the 17-18 season to return all Carroll practice gear from last season. I need all returning players to return any Carroll gear that was given out last year so we can prepare for the upcoming season. If gear that was assigned to you is not returned, you will receive a bill on your account to replace anything lost or missing.
At tomorrows practice/meeting, we will discuss the practice schedule, fees for the summer and plans for team camps.

Ethan Fogle (Senior) continued his dominant performance in the DCSAA with another Triple-Crown performance and MVP of the Meet at the DCSAA Indoor Track Championships February 13th. With very little time to recover, Fogle took home the gold in the 300m (34.86), the 500m (1:05.31 a new DCSAA record) and finally the 55m (6.56).
Fogle joined fellow Mighty Lions Jalen Thoms, Kevon Campbell and Sekai Pearson to take the silver in the 4x200m Relay (1:35.94)!
The Divine Lions fought in a tight contest for the team title which lasted the entire competition. The Divine Lions provided superlative performances throughout the meet. Led in the point tally by Junior Kendal Drewery’s two gold performances in the 55m hurdles (8.64) and the Triple Jump (10.30m); Junior Janoah Syers defended her Indoor Title in the Long Jump (5.20m) accompanied by a silver in the High Jump (1.47m). Junior, Nile Brown, nursing injuries contributed a bronze in the Long Jump (5.05m) to add to the Lions medal count. Sophomore, Jordyn Johnson battled her Junior teammate to narrowly come in second in the Triple Jump (10.25m); and finally, the freshmen duo of Victoria Perrow (7.20) and Tiffani Pittman (7.35) continued their DCSSA domination in the 55m coming in first and second in the event.
With Syers sidelined with an injury, Sophomore Jordyn Johnson stepped up to join Drewery, Pittman and Perrow for a silver in the 4x200m Relay.
The Divine Lions came up short of their goal of a championship but moved up from their 4th place 48 point finish in 2017 to a 2nd place 103 point finish this season.

- Janoah Syers, Tiffani Pittman, Kendal Drewery & Victoria Perrow, came together for the 4x200m Relay. The Team came in 2nd overall in a Season’s best time of 1:44.96! It took the team winning the fastest time on a flat track this year to win.
