National Society of Black Engineers Jr. Chapter: ACHS STEM Nation

What is the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)?

The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is one of the largest student-governed organizations based in the United States. NSBE, founded in 1975, supports and promotes the aspirations of collegiate and pre-collegiate students and technical professionals in engineering and technology.

Do I need to be African-American to join NSBE?

No, NSBE is not only for African-American students. NSBE welcomes students from all races, sexes, and creeds. NSBE is a very diverse organization that has far-reaching benefits such as networking, scholarships, and job/internship opportunities.

What is an NSBE Jr. Chapter?

NSBE Jr., which is NSBE's main K-12 program, provides activities to help students discover firsthand how engineering and technology relate to the world around them and discover the excitement of academic excellence, leadership, technical development, and teamwork.

Mentoring is also a major part of NSBE’s K-12 programs. The students in NSBE’s 170+ NSBE Jr. Chapters and in our local communities have unfettered access to the 16,000 collegiate engineering students and professionals in NSBE’s network.
