Who better to lead our winning team than Carroll alumnus Anthony Ugorji '12. While this is his second season coaching Carroll students, this is his first year as head coach. He notes the growth in the program and is seeing results, "We are attracting different types of players to come to Carroll," he explains. He goes on to say that he wants to continue to, "shine some light on Carroll soccer because there is talent here, there is a lot of talent on our team." He also wants to encourage support from students, staff, alumni, and the community as they continue to make strides on the field. He allows his students to freely express their desire to pray and strives to be an example of Godly principles in his coaching tactics and strategies.
Ugorji was a member of Carroll's competitive varsity soccer team and went on to play collegiately at Longwood University. Since graduating, Ugorji returned to Washington, D.C. and launched a full time career teaching the principles of soccer to youth in the metropolitan area.
