This year's graduating class is comprised of 104 students. They have been accepted into over 90 different colleges & universities. Forty-six students have received scholarship money, with the average award totaling $52,000 per student.

Choosing a college is a big decision. It is no longer solely a matter of getting into and attending the most prestigious school. There are other important considerations (i.e. cost, majors, campus atmosphere).

Recently, some members of the Class of 2016 spoke about their college choices and explained what factors led to their decisions:

LaTroy Mayes  ’16 – Attending Mount St. Mary’s University
“I chose Mount St. Mary’s because the school has similar values to Archbishop Carroll. I felt comfortable when I visited and the people I met were very welcoming.”

Jordan Winston ’16 – Attending Washington College
“The school really fits hand in glove with what I want to do in the future. I plan to major in political science and business management.”

Dionna Thompson ’16 – Attending St. John’s University
“I chose St. John’s because it has the majors that I am interested in – music and communication arts. When I visited the school, everyone was really nice and it just felt like home.”

Christopher Gooden ’16 – Attending Mount St. Mary’s University
“Mount St. Mary’s offered me a really good scholarship. They have a good criminal justice program and I want to major in that.”

As they head off to college, we wish each and every senior well on what is sure to be an amazing journey.
