Brian Vrtis - Novice Teacher

Brian Vrtis - Novice Teacher

As he begins his fourth school year with our community, Mr. Brian Vrtis serves as our English Department Chair and Senior English teacher. In a very short period of time, Mr. Vrtis has made a lasting impression on the students and staff of Archbishop Carroll. He constantly challenges and inspires students to not only find joy in reading but to share that joy with others. Under his guidance, students have learned how to see themselves in their work and to share their voices through their writing. His love for his students is evident through his actions, words, and deeds. Mr. Vrtis is always positive and joyful, a constant reminder to his students to be their best selves academically and spiritually. He is identified by colleagues as a quiet, effective, and stable presence in our community who is always willing and eager to support anyone in need.

We are honored to recognize him as our 2022-2023 Novice Teacher of the Year.
