Catholic Schools Week 2015

January 25 – 31 was National Catholic Schools Week, an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Our student leaders organized a lot of fun activities, including group service projects, fundraising drives, pep rallies, dress down days, contests, and quiet moments to reflect and pray.

Peer Tutoring Helps Students on the Path to Success

Archbishop Carroll rolled out its new peer tutoring program shortly before mid-term exams last December, and the impact has been impressive thus far. The program pairs students who excel in a particular subject area with students who request extra assistance, with the aim of addressing students’ individual academic needs by utilizing peer-to-peer support.

National Symphony Orchestra Members and Guest Musicians Perform at Carroll During NSO in Your Neighborhood: Brookland to NoMA

On January 7th and 8th, Archbishop Carroll welcomed National Symphony Orchestra members and other guest musicians to Carroll for three special in-school performances. The events were part of this year's NSO in Your Neighborhood: Brookland to NoMA, a week-long initiative presented by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which brought free chamber music and orchestral concerts to neighborhoods throughout Washington, DC – from Brookland to NoMa.
