Freshman Transition Program
The start of high school is a wonderful, exciting, and challenging time! At Archbishop Carroll, we offer extra guidance to our 9th graders as they make this transition. Our programming includes:
Summer Bridge opportunities
All 9th graders are invited to enroll in summer school between 8th and 9th grade. This opportunity gives students a chance to get to know their classmates and some of their teachers, while developing the academic skills needed for success in high school.
Carroll Seminar
Each 9th grader will have a Carroll seminar class during their first year. This class, taught by guidance counselors, covers everything from how to use your Carroll email address, to understanding your learner profile.
Lion’s Den
Individual students want or need extra support as they navigate the transition to high school. Students in Lion’s Den have regular meetings with the counselor, learn social and academic skills they need, and work together for everyone’s success.
