From Pupil to Bishop: The Ordination of Bishop Roy Campbell, Class of 1965

The Carroll community celebrates the ordination of 1965 alum, Bishop Roy Edward Campbell Jr., as a new auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington. On April 21, he joined the two bishops who currently assist Cardinal Donald Weurl in matters of the Archdiocese. he is preceded by Bishop Martin D. Holley, who was appointed as Bishop of Mempis by Pope Francis after serving the Archdiocese of Washington for 12 years.

Carroll's Latin Dancers take the Tidal Basin Stage at the National Cherry Blossom Festival

Our Leones de Oro Latin Dance Team added some Latin spice to the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival. On the 30th of March, the team took the Tidal Basin Welcome Stage to showcase Carroll's diversity and cultural acceptance through the art of dance. Most are more than familiar with the Salsa, Meringue, and the Tango,, but few are as killed at execcuting these beautiful, yet complex dance combinations as our Latin Dance Team. Donned in lilac pink dresses and black formal suits, the dance partners entertained a crowd of hundreds, just blocks away from the White House.

Black History Month Celebration

The month of February holds a very important place in the hearts of the African Americans in our country. Originally Negro History Week, the period of reflection on the accomplishments acts as an annual revival of pride in the rich African American culture. Carroll joined the nation in celebration on February 19 in the Greg McMahon Theater. The Fine Arts Department hosted a talent showcase that allowed the students to reveal who's got talent!
