Rev. Rafiu Bakare

Rev. Rafiu Bakare joined the faculty in 2016 as a member of the Science Department as well as the Head Track & Field Coach. A native Washingtonian with a wealth of experience in politics, religion and community-building, he helps students grow and develop academically, emotionally, spiritually and athletically.

Rev. Bakare has been in the gospel ministry for over 20 years. Serving in churches in and around the District of Columbia as a youth and young adult pastor, catechist and lecturer. He preaches the value of self-knowledge to students as a means of expanding ones thinking and actualizing their unique and divine potential; and has over 15 years of Track & Field coaching experience in the youth and high school arenas.
 
He earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Andersonville Theological Seminary and obtained a certificate in Adult Basic Education with an emphasis in Teaching Technique from the University of the District of Columbia.
