Bertha Castaneda '12 honored at the White House

In honor of Catholic Schools Week, Bertha Castaneda, a senior at Archbishop Carroll High School, has been chosen by the White House as a Champion of Change. She was honored at a White House reception by President Barack Obama and went on a private tour of the White House before the ceremony on January 25, 2012. The White House Champions of Change program honors citizens across the country who are using projects and initiatives to move their communities forward. The honorees have each taken great strides to improve the lives of others through charitable work, faith and advocacy. Bertha exemplifies the students of Archbishop Carroll who contribute substantially to the transformation of the school. She also stands out as a student who has lead by wholeheartedly involving herself in almost every new program the school has offered, and cajoling others to get involved as well. Congratulations Bertha!
