ADMISSIONS PROCEDURES

Students applying from Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Washington:

  1. 1. Applicants must select Archbishop Carroll on the Archdiocesan Choice Form to have their complete transcript forwarded to Archbishop Carroll.
  2. 2. Applicants must complete an Archbishop Carroll admissions application. Application fee is $25.00.
  3. 3. The Archbishop Carroll Admissions Committee reviews each applicant’s test scores, transcript and recommendations from the elementary school.
  4. 4. An interview is required of all applicants.

Students applying from non-Catholic schools:

  1. 1. Applicants must complete an Archbishop Carroll admissions application. Application fee is $25.00.
  2. 2. Applicants must make arrangements with the Catholic Schools Office (www.catholicschoolswork.org) to take the Entrance Examination Test.
  3. 3. Application must submit results from the entrance exam. Applications must submit transcripts and standardized test scores from the past two years.
  4. 4. Three recommendations are required: From current school administrator or counselor, current Math teacher, and current English teacher.
  5. 5. An interview is required of all applicants.

An application will not be considered unless all of the above items including application fee have been received by the Admissions Office. (Please make check payable to Archbishop Carroll High School.

FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS

For those students and parents who require assistance in meeting the financial requirements of attending Archbishop Carroll, there are several forms of aid available. The application process for each is described here.

ARCHDIOCESAN AID: These tuition assistance awards are based on family income. The application forms are provided by the Archdiocese of Washington and may be obtained at the following locations:

  1. Archbishop Carroll’s Admissions Office
  2. All Catholic elementary schools
  3. www.catholicschoolswork.org

MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS: These scholarships are awarded to incoming Freshmen. Eligible applicants will be notified upon acceptance to the school. Eligible accepted students will be given an application and asked to write an essay by a given deadline.

MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS: These scholarships are awarded after acceptance. Awards are available for vocal and instrumental performance. Interested students should contact the Music Department to arrange for an interview and audition after being accepted to Archbishop Carroll. Applicants must provide a typed essay of no more than 200 words on “Why I want to study music."
