Carroll Athletic Hall of Fame

I am happy to announce that nominations are open for Carroll’s Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2012 Hall of Fame nominations will be limited to athletes, coaches, as well as teams from the classes of 1975-1979 and anyone we may have missed from the classes of the 50s, 60s and early 70s.  This will give the Selection Committee an opportunity to concentrate on a more manageable group and make the best choices.

Next year the nominations will be open to the classes of 1980–1984, and the following year the classes of 1985-1989, etc., until we have spanned the six decades of Carroll’s existence.

Please reply to this email with the name and class of the person or the team you wish to nominate, and give some background information and reasons for your nomination. A few words will suffice, although the more detail you can give and support with news clippings, etc. will help the selection committee and give your nominee a better chance of being selected. Click here to download the on-line version of the 2012 Athletic Hall of Fame nomination form.

The nomination process will be closed on April 20 in order to give the selection committee time to finalize decisions and notify inductees in preparation for the luncheon which is scheduled for Homecoming 2012.

The first four Athletic Hall of Fame luncheons were great successes.  We look forward to many more induction ceremonies to pay fitting tribute to great Carroll athletes and coaches.
